3/4 cup sugar

1 tablespoon butter
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
4 to 5 drops red food coloring, optional

  • In a small bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add enough water until dough forms a ball. Refrigerate for 30 minutes., Preheat oven to 450°.
