Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 10-3/4 oz can reduced-fat or fat-free condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 c light sour cream
1 lb fresh crabmeat, coarsely chopped
10 oz fresh asparagus, chopped
1/4 tsp pepper
2 c reduced-fat ritz crackers, crushed
1/3 c melted butter

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 400. Spray an 8"-square baking dish w/ cooking spray.
  • 2. In lg bowl, combine soup, sour cream, crabmeat, asparagus and pepper. Mix well. Pour into baking dish.
  • 3. In another bowl, combine crushed crackers w/ melted butter. Sprinkle evenly over crab mix. Bake 20 mins, or until bubbly.

Tips:

  • Use fresh crab meat for the best flavor. If you can't find fresh crab meat, frozen crab meat is a good substitute.
  • Don't overcook the crab. Crab meat is delicate and can easily become tough if overcooked. Cook the casserole just until the crab is heated through.
  • Use a variety of cheeses. This will give the casserole a more complex flavor. Cheddar, Parmesan, and mozzarella are all good choices.
  • Add some vegetables to the casserole. This will make it more nutritious and flavorful. Broccoli, cauliflower, and corn are all good choices.
  • Serve the casserole hot. This is when it will be at its best.

Conclusion:

Crab casserole is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is a great way to use up leftover crab meat, and it is also a popular dish to serve at potlucks and parties. With its creamy, cheesy sauce and tender crab meat, crab casserole is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
