EASY CHEESY PASTA POT

Easy Cheesy Pasta Pot image

I couldn't think of anything I wanted on a cold winter day. I was all by myself so this comfort food was made for only 1 person. Feel free to pick the frozen veggies that you like. I like crunch so added some French's Fried Onions. It definately hit the spot (a very generous serving). I think I will try an expanded version for the family soon.

Tips:

  • Use a large pot: This will give the pasta plenty of room to cook and prevent it from sticking together.
  • Salting Pasta Water: Generously salt your pasta water. The pasta water should taste like the sea. This will not only enhance the flavor of the sauce, but it will also help the pasta cook more evenly.
  • Cook the Pasta Al Dente: Cook the pasta until it is al dente, or slightly firm to the bite. This will prevent it from becoming mushy when you add it to the sauce.
  • Use a Good Quality Cheese: The type of cheese you use will make a big difference in the flavor of the sauce. Use a cheese that melts well and has a strong flavor, such as cheddar, parmesan, or mozzarella.
  • Make a Roux: A roux is a mixture of butter and flour that is used to thicken the sauce. This will help to prevent the sauce from becoming too thin or watery.
  • Add Milk or Cream: Milk or cream will help to make the sauce smooth and creamy. You can use whole milk, skim milk, or even heavy cream, depending on how rich you want the sauce to be.
  • Season the Sauce: Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and other herbs and spices to taste. You can also add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a little kick.
  • Garnish the Pasta: Before serving, garnish the pasta with grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, or crumbled bacon. This will add a pop of flavor and color to the dish.

Conclusion:

Cheesy pasta is a quick and easy meal that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a delicious and satisfying dish that is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a casual gathering.
