EASY CARAMEL APPLES

I was thinking about this when making caramel apples the other day and thought I would share with everyone here. :) NOTE: You can also substitute the caramel for peanut butter instead for a healthier version for the kidlets.

caramel

Steps:

  • 1. Cut your apples in half. Remove stems.
  • 2. Hollow out each half by coring and shaving away some of the inner apple. (I use a muffin tin to help balance.)
  • 3. Fill with warmed caramel. (You can use homemade or you can use store-bought and microwave it in 15 second intervals until warmed.)
  • 4. Let the caramel cool and harden. Once completely cooled, cut apples into slice and serve.

EASY CARAMEL-ISH DIP FOR APPLES

Easy Caramel-ish Dip for Apples image

This is a great dip for parties, showers, and tailgating. You can put it together at practically the last minute, although you might want to cut the apples into slices and dip them in a baggie of lemon water (1 Tablespoon of lemon juice in 1 cup of water) ahead of time, if you aren't able to cut the apples just as you need them....

Number Of Ingredients 3

8 oz block of cream cheese, softened
jar of caramel ice cream topping
some finely chopped walnuts or peanuts, optional

Steps:

  • 1. Spread softened cream cheese on a pretty serving plate.
  • 2. Pour SOME of the caramel sauce over the cream cheese. Sprinkle nuts over all.
  • 3. Serve with fresh apple slices. This dip is also great with nut-based crackers.
  • 4. NOTE: Do NOT refrigerate dip after preparing because it will be too solid to scoop! But refrigerate any leftover dip, then let it soften before serving again.

SCARY EASY WERTHER'S CARAMEL APPLES RECIPE - (4.1/5)

Scary Easy Werther's Caramel Apples Recipe - (4.1/5) image

Provided by MidlifeMommyAdventures

Number Of Ingredients 4

28 Werther's Original Baking Caramels, unwrapped
6 honey crisp apples, or your choice
2 tablespoons milk
6 wooden or bamboo skewers

Steps:

  • Wash and thoroughly dry your apples. Stick a skewer into the end of each apple, making sure not to pierce your hand. (Don't ask)! Melt the caramels in a microwave safe bowl for thirty seconds at a time, until they are fully melted. Add the milk to slightly thin the caramel, stir well. Dip each apple into the caramel, using a spoon to coat it, if necessary. Let the apple set on a piece of wax paper to firm up a little bit for at least 10 or 15 minutes. Enjoy!

Tips:

  • Choose firm, tart apples: Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Pink Lady are all great options.
  • Wash and dry the apples thoroughly: This will help the caramel stick better.
  • Use a candy thermometer: This is the best way to ensure that the caramel reaches the correct temperature.
  • Be careful when working with hot caramel: It can cause severe burns.
  • Let the caramel apples cool completely before eating them: This will help the caramel harden and set.

Conclusion:

Caramel apples are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. With just a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a sweet and sticky snack that everyone will love. So next time you're looking for a fun and festive dessert, give caramel apples a try!
