EASY BISQUICK STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE

Easy Bisquick Strawberry Shortcake image

Last year my kids (ages 8, 6 and 3 at the time) decided they wanted to make a recipe "on their own," so we tried the Strawberry Shortcake recipe on the back of the Bisquick box - worked like a charm! I gave each of them regular table knives (not too sharp) so they could slice the berries, and they measured and mixed the simple ingredients for the shortcake themselves. They felt like total rock stars after we assembled their beautiful (and delicious!) desserts!

GLAZED BISQUICK STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE

Glazed Bisquick Strawberry Shortcake image

This is my own adaptation of Bisquick's shortcake made a teensy more healthy with their Heart Smart mix. I'm sure it would work fine with regular Bisquick as well. You could also use regular milk, but I think the buttermilk makes a lighter and more tender cake.

Tips:

  • Use fresh strawberries for the best flavor. If you can't find fresh strawberries, you can use frozen strawberries, but thaw them completely before using.
  • If you don't have a pastry blender, you can use two forks to cut the butter into the flour.
  • Be careful not to overmix the batter. Overmixing will make the biscuits tough.
  • Bake the biscuits until they are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Serve the shortcake warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

Conclusion:

This easy Bisquick strawberry shortcake recipe is a delicious and classic dessert that is perfect for any occasion. Made with just a few simple ingredients, this shortcake is light and fluffy, with a sweet and tangy strawberry filling. Whether you're serving it for a special occasion or just as a weeknight treat, this strawberry shortcake is sure to be a hit.
