Categories     Quick Breads

Time 1h5m

Yield 1 loaf, 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

3 cups Bisquick
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 cups milk
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 35O°F.
  • Mix first 4 ingredients together.
  • Beat vigorously for 30 seconds.
  • Stir in nuts (optional).
  • Pour batter into greased loaf pan.
  • Bake 45 to 50 minutes.
  • Cool before slicing.

Tips:

  • Correct ingredient measurements: Use a kitchen scale to accurately measure ingredients, especially dry ingredients like flour and oats. This ensures consistent results.
  • Fresh baking powder: Make sure your baking powder is fresh and active. Old baking powder can result in a flat or dense bread.
  • Proper mixing: Mix the batter just until the ingredients are combined. Overmixing can develop the gluten in the flour, resulting in a tough bread.
  • Baking temperature: Preheat your oven to the correct temperature before baking. This helps the bread rise properly and prevents uneven baking.
  • Checking for doneness: Insert a toothpick or skewer into the center of the bread. If it comes out clean, the bread is done. If it comes out with batter or crumbs attached, bake for a few more minutes.

Conclusion:

Bisquick oatmeal bread is a versatile and easy-to-make bread that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
