1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup water
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

  • Spoon fruit evenly onto the center of the tortillas.

  • Roll up tortillas and place seam side down on lightly greased 8x8 baking dish. I prefer to roll them (which is how the restaurant serves them) as opposed to making a square pocket. Makes for a nicer presentation.
  • Bring margarine, sugars and water to a boil in a medium sauce pan.
  • Reduce heat to a simmer, and stir constantly for 3 minutes.
  • Pour sauce evenly over tortillas and sprinkle with extra cinnamon.
  • Bake for 20 minutes.

Time 55m

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 pkg refrigerated crescent rolls, 8 oz size
2 granny smith apples, large
1 1/2 stick butter, melted
1 c sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 can(s) citrus flavored soda, 12 oz

Steps:

  • 1. Peel, core and quarter apples, then halve each quarter. Unroll crescent rolls and separate at the perforations; place an apple section at the large end and roll to small end. Place apple rolls in rows in a 9 x 13 x 2 glass oven-proof dish.
  • 2. Melt butter, stir in sugar and cinnamon. Pour over rolled apples. Pour citrus soda over rolls.
  • 3. Bake for 40 minutes at 350 degrees. Serve warm, top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.

Tips:

  • Choose the right apples: Use firm, tart apples that hold their shape when baked, such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp.
  • Don't overcook the apples: The apples should be tender but still have a slight crunch.
  • Use a good quality cinnamon sugar mixture: This will add a delicious flavor to the apples.
  • Be careful not to overfill the tortillas: This will make them difficult to roll up.
  • Serve the enchiladas immediately: They are best when served warm.

Conclusion:

This easy apple enchilada dessert is a delicious and unique way to enjoy apples. It's perfect for a potluck or party, or simply as a special treat for your family. With its simple ingredients and easy-to-follow instructions, this recipe is sure to become a favorite.
