It even beats every restaurant we've ever been to. The two of us can eat this whole bowl in one sitting, and enjoy every bite. I'm so happy to share it with you. Now Taco Tuesday can be any night of the week! Serve it with tortilla chips, or use it to top tacos, quesadillas, fajitas, burritos, and more.

Categories     appetizer

Time 1h20m

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 10

3 Haas avocados, halved, seeded and peeled
1 lime, juiced
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
1/2 medium onion, diced
1/2 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
2 Roma tomatoes, seeded and diced
1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
1 clove garlic, minced

Steps:

  • In a large bowl place the scooped avocado pulp and lime juice, toss to coat. Drain, and reserve the lime juice, after all of the avocados have been coated. Using a potato masher add the salt, cumin, and cayenne and mash. Then, fold in the onions, tomatoes, cilantro, and garlic. Add 1 tablespoon of the reserved lime juice. Let sit at room temperature for 1 hour and then serve.

Tips:

  • Use ripe avocados: The riper the avocados, the creamier and more flavorful your guacamole will be.
  • Choose the right avocados: Look for avocados that are dark green or black in color and slightly soft to the touch.
  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh ingredients will give your guacamole the best flavor. Use freshly chopped cilantro, onion, and tomatoes.
  • Don't over-mash the avocados: You want your guacamole to have a slightly chunky texture, so don't over-mash the avocados.
  • Add some heat: If you like spicy guacamole, add a chopped jalapeño or serrano pepper.
  • Serve guacamole immediately: Guacamole is best served fresh. It will start to brown after a few hours, so don't make it ahead of time.
  • Store guacamole properly: If you have any leftover guacamole, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. You can also freeze guacamole for up to 2 months.

Conclusion:

Guacamole is a delicious and versatile dip that can be enjoyed with a variety of foods. It is perfect for parties, potlucks, and picnics. It can also be used as a condiment for tacos, burritos, and sandwiches. With its creamy texture and fresh flavor, guacamole is a surefire crowd-pleaser.
