Tips:

  • Properly Measure Ingredients: Accurately measuring ingredients, especially the flour, is crucial for successful Kletskopjes. Use a kitchen scale for precise measurements.
  • Room Temperature Ingredients: Ensure that the butter and eggs are at room temperature before starting. This allows them to blend smoothly and evenly into the batter.
  • Creaming Butter and Sugar: Take your time creaming the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. This step incorporates air into the batter, resulting in delicate and airy cookies.
  • Chill the Dough: Chilling the dough for at least 30 minutes helps it firm up, making it easier to handle and shape into the desired form.
  • Use a Pastry Bag: For intricate designs, use a pastry bag fitted with a star tip to pipe the batter onto the baking sheet. This technique creates beautiful and consistent shapes.
  • Bake at the Right Temperature: Bake the Kletskopjes at the specified temperature and time in the recipe. Overbaking can result in dry and crumbly cookies.
  • Transfer Cookies Carefully: After baking, carefully transfer the hot cookies to a cooling rack using a spatula to prevent breakage.
