Tips:

  • Choose the right apples. For this recipe, we recommend using a combination of sweet and tart apples, such as Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Braeburn.
  • Use fresh pumpkin puree. Canned pumpkin puree can be used in a pinch, but fresh pumpkin puree will give your crisp a more vibrant flavor.
  • Don't overmix the topping. The topping should be crumbly, not smooth. If you overmix it, it will become tough.
  • Bake the crisp until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling. This will take about 30-35 minutes.

Conclusion:

This Dutch apple pumpkin crisp is the perfect fall dessert. It's easy to make, delicious, and packed with flavor. The combination of apples, pumpkin, and spices is irresistible. Serve it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for a truly special treat.
