Steps:
- Heat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 9x13 pan with nonstick spray (or nonstick with flour spray).
- Dump all dry ingredients in a large bowl and stir with a whisk to mix well (my version of sifting).
- Add all of the "wet" ingredients and stir until mixed well with wooden spoon.
- Spread in prepared pan and sprinkle the cup (or so) of chocolate chips over the top.
- Bake at 350 for no more than 30 minute They are done when the edge just starts to pull away from the pan and a toothpick comes out with a little bit of brownie on it. I set my timer for 28 minute to avoid over baking them.
Tips:
- Use a 9x13 inch baking pan: This is the most common size for dump bars, and it ensures that the bars are the perfect thickness.
- Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing can make the bars tough. Just mix until the ingredients are combined.
- Use a variety of toppings: The sky's the limit when it comes to toppings for dump bars. Some popular options include chocolate chips, nuts, dried fruit, and candy.
- Bake the bars until they are set: The bars should be firm to the touch and a toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean.
- Let the bars cool completely: This will allow them to set properly and also make them easier to cut.
Conclusion:
Dump bars are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are perfect for potlucks, bake sales, and holiday parties. With so many different recipes to choose from, there's sure to be a dump bar recipe that everyone will love.
