BOURBON WIENERS
Great appetizer. Family favorite for many years. Make them in a pan or a slow cooker. You can use uncut small smoky sausages, too.

DRUNKEN HOT DOGS
My mother used to make this and now it's a favorite for our family whether it's a football game, or get together. We have served it over hot rice or with toothpicks as an appetizer.

Steps:
- 1. Slice all franks in half length-wise then into thirds or fourths (depending on what you consider bite size; one frank will give you 6-8 pieces) Side note on choice of frank: I have found that the Farmer John brand plumps up and absorbs the sauce better than other brand of franks we've tried.
- 2. Add Beer, Ketchup, salt, dry mustard, and worcestershire to pot. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- 3. Add onion, bell pepper, garlic and franks. Continue to boil over medium low heat. Stir every 8-10 mins. Cook until onions and bell pepper have softened. Serve once cooled down a bit.
- 4. I have also let this cook on low in the crock pot overnight. Just add all ingredients into the crock pot, stir and set to low. In the am, stir again and let it sit on warm until you need it!
Tips:
- Choose high-quality hot dogs: Look for plump, firm hot dogs with a consistent color. Avoid hot dogs that are excessively dry or have an off-putting odor.
- Use a variety of toppings: Don't limit yourself to the classic ketchup and mustard combo. Experiment with different toppings like sauerkraut, relish, onions, chili, cheese, and bacon.
- Toast your buns: Toasting the buns adds a delightful crunch and flavor to the hot dog experience. You can toast them in a toaster, on a grill, or even in a pan with a little butter.
- Don't overcrowd the pan: When cooking the hot dogs, make sure not to overcrowd the pan. This will prevent them from cooking evenly and becoming soggy.
- Get creative with your drunken concoction: Explore different types of beer or other alcoholic beverages to create a unique and flavorful drunken mixture. Experiment with different herbs, spices, and seasonings to enhance the taste.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, drunken hot dogs are a delightful and easy-to-make dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With a variety of toppings and drunken concoctions to choose from, the possibilities are endless. So next time you're looking for a quick and satisfying meal, give drunken hot dogs a try. You won't be disappointed!
