CHICKEN ALA KING

This is basically my grandma's recipe but I lightened it up a bit by using a few low-fat ingredients. If fat and calories are not an issue for you, use the 'real' stuff. Tastes great either way! This is also good with left-over turkey.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients. Fresh, free-range chicken, organic vegetables, and flavorful herbs will make all the difference in the taste of your dish.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan. When searing the chicken, make sure to give it enough space so that it can brown properly. If you overcrowd the pan, the chicken will steam instead of sear.
  • Cook the chicken until it is cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure that the chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Make sure the sauce is thick and creamy. Use a combination of flour, butter, and milk to create a rich and flavorful sauce. If the sauce is too thin, add more flour or cornstarch.
  • Season the dish to taste. Add salt, pepper, and other seasonings to taste. Be careful not to overseason the dish, as you can always add more seasoning later.
