Number Of Ingredients 10

1 egg, lightly beaten
1 cup beef broth
1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
1 tablespoon dried minced onion
2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1-1/2 pounds lean ground beef (90% lean)
1 pound bulk pork sausage
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. Crumble beef and sausage over mixture and mix well. Pat into two greased 8x4-in. loaf pans. Top with tomato sauce. , Bake, uncovered, 55-60 minutes until no pink remains and a thermometer reads 160°. Freeze option:Cover and freeze one uncooked meat loaf for up to 3 months. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. 6 T. ketchup, divided
2 T. Dijon mustard, divided
1 c. shredded mozzarella
1/2 c. Italian seasoned breadcrumbs

1/4 t. black papper
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1/2 lb. each of lean ground beef, pork and veal

  • Preheat oven to 375. Coat a medium skillet with cooking spray over medium high heat. Add chopped onion, saute for 3 minutes. Combine the onion, 1/4 c. of the ketchup, 1 T. mustard, mozzarella, breadcrumbs, parsley, parmesan, oregano, pepper, salt and egg. Crumble the meats over the mixture and stir just till blended. Pack mixture into a 8 X 4 inch loaf pan. Combine 2 T. ketchup and 1 T. mustard and spread over loaf. bake at 375 for 1 hr or till meat thermometer reads 160. Let stand in pan for 10 minutes
