Time 1h50m

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 cup white sugar
1 ½ cups half-and-half cream
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • In a saucepan over medium-low heat, stir together the sugar and half-and-half. When the mixture begins to simmer, remove from heat, and whisk half of the mixture into the eggs. Whisk quickly so that the eggs do not scramble. Pour the egg mixture back into the saucepan, and stir in the heavy cream. Continue cooking over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is thick enough to coat the back of a metal spoon. Remove from heat, and whisk in vanilla and cinnamon. Set aside to cool.
  • Pour cooled mixture into an ice cream maker, and freeze according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Tips:

  • To ensure the creamiest texture, use high-quality, full-fat ingredients. Use ingredients like heavy cream, whole milk, and butter.
  • Chill your ice cream maker bowl thoroughly before churning the ice cream. You can freeze the bowl overnight or chill it in the freezer for at least 30 minutes before churning.
  • To prevent the ice cream from becoming too icy, avoid over-churning it. Churn the ice cream until it reaches a soft-serve consistency, then transfer it to a freezer-safe container promptly.
  • Add your favorite mix-ins towards the end of the churning process. This will help to prevent them from becoming frozen solid.
  • Store the ice cream in a freezer-safe container for at least 4 hours before serving. This will allow the ice cream to firm up and develop its full flavor.

Conclusion:

Double chocolate cinnamon ice cream is a delicious and refreshing dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It's easy to make with just a few simple ingredients, and it's sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
