Tips:

  • Choose the right Doritos flavor: For a classic flavor, use Nacho Cheese Doritos. For a spicier dish, use Flamin' Hot Doritos. For a tangy flavor, use Cool Ranch Doritos.
  • Use lean ground beef: This will help to reduce the fat content of the dish.
  • Don't overcook the beef: The beef should be cooked until it is no longer pink, but it should not be tough.
  • Use canned diced tomatoes: These are a convenient and affordable way to add flavor and texture to the dish.
  • Add plenty of cheese: The cheese is what really makes this dish so delicious. Use a combination of shredded cheddar cheese and Monterey Jack cheese for the best results.
  • Serve the casserole with your favorite toppings: Some popular options include sour cream, guacamole, and salsa.
