DIRTY RICE WITH SAUSAGE AND SHRIMP
I make this as a one-dish meal on the stovetop. I normally don't add salt, because the sausages are salty enough without it. Yes, the onion and bell pepper are listed twice, because they are cut differently and added at different times.

SKINNY DIRTY BROWN RICE WITH SHRIMP
This is an easy-on-your-waistline recipe that still delivers on flavor. "Dirty rice is a classic Cajun dish made "dirty" by cooking the rice with minced livers or gizzards. This is a healthier version using brown rice and lean ground beef", says the author at skinnytaste.com.

Tips:
- Use high-quality ingredients. Fresh shrimp, flavorful sausage, and aromatic vegetables will make a big difference in the final dish.
- Don't be afraid to adjust the seasonings to your taste. If you like it spicy, add more cayenne pepper or paprika. If you want it more savory, add more salt or soy sauce.
- Cook the rice until it is tender but still has a slight bite to it. Overcooked rice will be mushy and unpleasant.
- Serve the dirty rice immediately. It is best enjoyed hot and fresh from the pot.
