2 cups shredded cabbage
1 large onion, chopped
1 celery rib, chopped
2 tablespoons butter
1 can (49-1/2 ounces) chicken broth, divided
3 medium potatoes, peeled, halved and sliced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sour cream
2 to 3 teaspoons snipped fresh dill
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • In a Dutch oven, saute the cabbage, onion and celery in butter for 1 minute. Cover and cook on low for 10 minutes. Set aside 1/2 cup broth. Add potatoes and remaining broth to cabbage mixture. , Whisk flour and reserved broth until smooth; stir into cabbage mixture. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. , Stir a small amount of hot broth into sour cream; return all to pan, stirring constantly. 3 pounds bone-in chicken pieces
1 gallon water
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
1 tablespoon salt
1 large head cabbage, cored and shredded
3 large peeled and diced red potatoes
1 large carrot, diced
1 large onion, chopped
3 bay leaves
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 bunch chopped fresh dill

Steps:

  • Place chicken in a large pot of water. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, and cook approximately 30 minutes. Remove from water, cool, and shred into bite-size pieces. Discard skin and bones.
  • In a large stock pot, heat 1 gallon of water with tomato soup and salt. Bring to a low boil. Place cabbage, potatoes, carrot, onion, chicken, and bay leaf in pot, and return to a simmer. 1 large onion, diced
1 stalk celery, diced
2 cups cabbage, shredded
3 potatoes, peeled and thickly sliced
6 cups chicken stock, divided
1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 cup sour cream
salt and pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add onion, celery, cabbage, salt, and pepper.
  • Partly cover and cook for 10 minutes over a low heat.
