DIED & WENT TO PIMENTO CHEESE HEAVEN (PIMIENTO)

Died & Went to Pimento Cheese Heaven (Pimiento) image

A true Southern delicacy! I didn't know I even liked Pimento Cheese! This stuff is addictive... so addictive I am having a lock installed on my refrigerator (not to keep me out - but in case the neighbors find out!). I have picked at Pimento Cheese spreads at parties and potlucks but never have the desire to make my own... and then I was asked if I would make a batch for a friend...This is a cross between her mom's recipe and my creativity. Great on Celery Sticks, Crackers, Bread... even straight out of the bowl! Even picky four year olds liked it!

Tips:

  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients. This will make a big difference in the flavor of your pimento cheese.
  • Shred the cheddar cheese yourself. Pre-shredded cheese is often coated with cellulose or other additives that can affect the texture and flavor of your pimento cheese.
  • Don't overmix the pimento cheese. Overmixing can make the cheese tough and rubbery.
  • Let the pimento cheese chill for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and develop.
  • Serve pimento cheese with your favorite crackers, vegetables, or bread. It's also a great addition to sandwiches and wraps.

Conclusion:
