This is a cool variation on deviled eggs, one I think is a great addition to Football Sundays -- and my husband agrees! Serve with crackers.

6 eggs
8 slices bacon
¾ cup light mayonnaise
¾ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
½ teaspoon paprika
1 ½ tablespoons white sugar
1 ½ tablespoons white wine vinegar
2 ½ tablespoons mustard
paprika for garnish

Remove from the heat and let the eggs stand in the hot water for 15 minutes. Drain. Cool the eggs under cold running water. Peel and chop the cooled eggs.
  • Cook the bacon in a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate; crumble once cool.

Tips:

  • Use the freshest eggs possible. Fresh eggs will have a brighter yellow yolk and a firmer white, which will result in a better-tasting dip.
  • Hard-boil the eggs correctly. To prevent the eggs from overcooking and becoming rubbery, place them in a saucepan and cover them with cold water. Bring the water to a boil, then cover the saucepan and remove it from the heat. Let the eggs stand in the hot water for 10-12 minutes, then drain the water and immediately place the eggs in an ice bath to stop the cooking process.
  • Use a food processor to make the dip. A food processor will make quick and easy work of blending the ingredients until smooth. If you don't have a food processor, you can mash the ingredients with a fork or potato masher, but it will take a bit more time and effort.
  • Season the dip to taste. The amount of mayonnaise, mustard, and vinegar you add to the dip will depend on your personal preference. Start with a small amount of each ingredient and add more to taste until you reach the desired flavor.
  • Chill the dip before serving. Chilling the dip will help to firm it up and make it more flavorful. You can chill the dip for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.
  • Garnish the dip with paprika, chives, or chopped bacon. Garnishing the dip will add a pop of color and flavor. You can also serve the dip with crackers, chips, or vegetables for dipping.

Conclusion:

Deviled egg appetizer dip is a delicious and easy-to-make party appetizer. It's perfect for any occasion, from casual get-togethers to holiday parties.
