MARVELOUS M&M BARS
This has been one of my favorite cookie recipes since I was a kid. I can't believe I forgot to post it on Zaar until now. I saw quite a few similar recipes when I searched, but none that were made as bar cookies. The original recipe was for drop cookies, but my mom adapted it long ago. These just melt in your mouth. Obviously, the serving size depends upon the size of your bars. I just happened to cut them into 32 pieces last night. Enjoy!

Tips:
- Use melted butter: Melted butter will help to create a smooth and creamy batter, and it will also help the bars to bake evenly.
- Do not overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter can result in tough and chewy bars. Mix just until the ingredients are well combined.
- Refrigerate the dough before baking: Chilling the dough before baking will help to prevent the bars from spreading too much in the oven.
- Bake the bars until they are golden brown: The bars should be baked until they are golden brown on top, and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bars cool completely before cutting: The bars need to cool completely before they are cut, otherwise they will be too soft and crumbly.
- Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature: The bars can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
