Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before you start baking, measure and prepare all of your ingredients. This will help you stay organized and ensure that you don't forget anything.
  • Use Cold Butter: Cold butter is essential for creating light and flaky scones. If the butter is too warm, it will melt into the flour and make the scones dense.
  • Work Quickly: Scones are best when they are made quickly. Overworking the dough will make them tough.
  • Don't Overmix: Overmixing the dough will also make the scones tough. Mix the dough just until it comes together.
  • Chill the Dough: Chilling the dough before baking helps to develop the flavor and makes the scones easier to handle.
  • Bake at a High Temperature: Scones should be baked at a high temperature (425°F) for a short period of time (12-15 minutes). This will help them to rise quickly and create a crispy exterior.
  • Serve Warm: Scones are best served warm. Serve them with your favorite toppings, such as butter, jam, or clotted cream.

Conclusion:

These delicious tea scones are the perfect addition to any afternoon tea party. They are light, flaky, and full of flavor. With a few simple tips, you can easily make these scones at home. So next time you're looking for a special treat, give these tea scones a try!
