2 cans (15 ounces each) tomato sauce
1 can (12 ounces) tomato paste
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 to 2 teaspoons fennel seed, crushed
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine tomato sauce and paste. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Cool. , Pour into jars or freezer containers, leaving 1/2-in. headspace. Freeze up to 12 months. 2 tbsp olive oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 fat garlic clove, crushed
2 x 400g cans chopped tomatoes
3 tbsp tomato purée
1 bay leaf
2 tbsp dried oregano
2 tsp brown sugar
1 small bunch basil, finely chopped

  • Heat the oil in a saucepan over a low heat, then add the onion along with a generous pinch of salt. Fry gently for 12-15 mins or until the onion has softened and is turning translucent.
