DELICIOUS DEVILED EGGS

Delicious Deviled Eggs image

This is my recipe for deviled eggs. They are very delicious and go really fast at parties.

Provided by Amy H.

Categories     Other Appetizers

Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 5

12 hard-cooked eggs
3/4 c mayonnaise
3 tsp yellow mustard
1/4 tsp salt
paprika

Steps:

  • 1. Cut eggs in half lengthwise and set on a plate or deviled egg tray.
  • 2. Remove yolks; mash in small bowl with an electric mixer or place in food processor. Add mayonnaise, mustard and salt; mix well.
  • 3. Spoon or pipe yolk mixture evenly into centers of egg whites. Sprinkle with paprika and either serve immediately or, cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Tips:

  • Use the freshest eggs possible. Older eggs will not peel as easily and the whites may be more rubbery.
  • Hard-boil the eggs perfectly. Overcooked eggs will be dry and crumbly, while undercooked eggs will be runny and unsafe to eat. To hard-boil eggs perfectly, place them in a single layer in a saucepan and cover them with cold water. Bring the water to a boil over high heat, then remove the saucepan from the heat and cover it. Let the eggs stand in the hot water for 10-12 minutes, depending on how hard you want them to be. Drain the hot water and immediately run cold water over the eggs until they are cool to the touch. Peel the eggs under cold water.
  • Use a variety of fillings. The classic deviled egg filling is made with mayonnaise, mustard, and paprika, but there are many other delicious variations. Try adding crumbled bacon, chopped ham, grated cheese, or diced vegetables to your filling.
  • Garnish your deviled eggs creatively. A simple sprinkle of paprika or chopped chives is a classic garnish, but you can also get creative with your garnishes. Try using chopped nuts, grated lemon or orange zest, or even edible flowers.

Conclusion:

Deviled eggs are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. With a variety of fillings and garnishes to choose from, you can create deviled eggs that are sure to please everyone. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy snack or appetizer, give deviled eggs a try.
