Time 7h10m

Yield 5 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

3/4 teaspoon black pepper
3/4 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
4 lbs beef ribs
0.75 (16 ounce) bottle barbecue sauce

Steps:

  • Combine rub ingredients mixing well.
  • Rub on all sides of ribs.
  • Place ribs meaty side up in crock pot.
  • Cover; cook on low for 6 hours.
  • Drain the grease from the crock.
  • Place the ribs back in and cover with bbq sauce.
  • Cook for another hour.

Tips:

  • Choose the right ribs: Baby back ribs are the most popular choice for crockpot cooking, as they are more tender and flavorful than spare ribs. You can also use country-style ribs, but they will take longer to cook.
  • Season the ribs well: Before cooking, season the ribs with a generous amount of salt, pepper, and your favorite spices. This will help to enhance the flavor of the ribs.
  • Use a good quality barbecue sauce: The barbecue sauce is what will give your ribs their signature flavor, so it's important to choose a good one. Look for a sauce that is thick and flavorful, with a good balance of sweet and smoky flavors.
  • Cook the ribs on low and slow: The key to tender, fall-off-the-bone ribs is to cook them on low and slow. This will allow the collagen in the ribs to break down, resulting in meat that is moist and flavorful.
  • Let the ribs rest before serving: Once the ribs are cooked, let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in more flavorful ribs.

Conclusion:

Cooking pork ribs in a crockpot is an easy and delicious way to enjoy this classic barbecue dish. With just a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can have a rack of tender, fall-off-the-bone ribs that your family and friends will love. So next time you're looking for an easy and delicious meal, give crockpot pork ribs a try. You won't be disappointed!
