DELICIOUS BACON AND CRACKER APPETIZERS

Delicious Bacon and Cracker Appetizers image

I'm always on the search for new appetizers. You can always have the ingredients on hand for this one. It's versatile so if you can't find the Club or Society-style crackers (these are rectangular in shape), any buttery cracker (Ritz will do if you can't find Club). Don't use thick sliced bacon. In fact what I do is take each piece of bacon and lay it on my cutting board and 'smear' it thinner and longer with the warmth of my hands. You might not need the whole box of crackers and you might not use all of the brown sugar. Some people like them with more sugar. Make these to suit YOUR OWN taste. Yield is approximate because I only make them as I need them.

Yield 24 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 lb sliced bacon
1 (16 ounce) box Club crackers or 1 (16 ounce) box any society-type crackers, they are rectangular in shape, you won't need the whole box,it depends on how many appetizers you wan
2 cups brown sugar (remember you may not need all of it)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Line cookie sheet with Reynolds Release® foil.
  • Cut bacon slices in half (or thirds if you've'smeared' it thin and long with your hands).
  • I separate crackers at perforations so each cracker will be about two bites.
  • Wrap bacon from under short end of cracker up and around to the other end of cracker so the cracker is wrapped and ends of bacon are underneath cracker.
  • Sprinkle each bacon wrapped cracker with some brown sugar (to taste).
  • Bake in 350° for about 20-30 minutes or until lightly browned and bacon is a little crispy.
  • Remove IMMEDIATELY from baking sheet to serving platter especially if you haven't used the Release® foil because you don't want them to stick.
  • Enjoy warm.

Categories     Main Course

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1½ pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
salt and pepper (to taste)
¾ cup cream cheese (softened)
¾ cup shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
5 slices thick cut bacon (cooked and crumbled, divided)
1 ounce dry ranch dressing mix (1 package)
4 green onions (thinly sliced)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Spray bottom of 9x13" baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Pound chicken breasts until they about about 1/4" thick (you want them to all be the same thickness so that they finish cooking at the same time).
  • Place chicken in a single layer in the baking pan and season with salt and pepper (sometimes I also season the chicken with a little bit of onion powder and garlic powder as well).
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, half of the shredded cheddar cheese, half of the bacon crumbles, and the dry Ranch dressing mix.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over all the chicken breasts in the pan.
  • Top the chicken with the remaining shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Cook in oven for 20-25 minutes or until chicken is fully cooked (internal temperature of 165 degrees).
  • Remove chicken from oven and top with remaining bacon crumbles and green onion.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: The better the quality of your ingredients, the better your appetizers will taste. Choose thick-cut bacon, fresh herbs, and gourmet crackers.
  • Don't overcook the bacon: Bacon is best when it's cooked until it's crispy but not burnt. Keep an eye on it while it's cooking, and remove it from the pan as soon as it's done.
  • Use a variety of crackers: Don't just stick to one type of cracker. Try using a variety of shapes, sizes, and flavors to create a more interesting appetizer platter.
  • Get creative with your toppings: There are endless possibilities when it comes to toppings for bacon and cracker appetizers. Try using cheese, fruit, nuts, spreads, or even chocolate.
  • Make it ahead of time: Many of these appetizers can be made ahead of time, which is perfect for busy party hosts. Simply assemble the appetizers and store them in the refrigerator until you're ready to serve.

Conclusion:

Bacon and cracker appetizers are a delicious and easy way to start any party or gathering. With so many different variations to choose from, you're sure to find a recipe that everyone will enjoy. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy appetizer, give one of these recipes a try.
