Number Of Ingredients 15

Peanuts
2 c Lard
2 c Peanut Oil
1 Lb Green Peanuts in shell
2 T Spice Blend (see below)
Spice Blend
1/4 c Chili Powder
2 T Kosher Salt
1 1/2 T Onion Powder
1 T Ground Cumin
1 1/2 tsp Paprika
1 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1 1/2 tsp Brown Sugar
1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper
1/4 tsp Dry Mustard

Steps:

  • 1.In a heavy pot, heat lard and peanut oil to 350 degrees. 2.Submerge peanuts in oil until crispy (about 5 minutes). 3.Drain well and toss with 2 tablespoons of spice blend. 4.Serve warm.

Tips:

  • Use unsalted peanuts. Salted peanuts will make the finished product too salty.
  • Soak the peanuts in water for at least 30 minutes before frying. This will help to prevent them from burning.
  • Use a deep fryer or a large pot filled with oil. The oil should be at least 3 inches deep.
  • Fry the peanuts in small batches. This will help to prevent them from sticking together.
  • Fry the peanuts until they are golden brown. This will take about 2-3 minutes.
  • Drain the peanuts on paper towels. This will help to remove any excess oil.
  • Season the peanuts with salt, pepper, or other spices, if desired.
  • Serve the peanuts immediately or store them in an airtight container for later.

Conclusion:

Deep-fried peanuts are a delicious and easy-to-make snack or appetizer. They are perfect for parties or gatherings, and they can also be enjoyed as a snack on their own. With just a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can make your own delicious deep-fried peanuts at home.
