DEEP FRIED KOOL AID BALLS

Correction to the recipe! it is 4 tablespoons of Kool Aid Mix with sugar. I use SPLENDA so I make my own "canisters" 1 pack KOOL AID to one cup SPLENDA. This would be a great idea for a kitchen party with friends, cutting the recipe in half and make a lot of different flavors.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 c all purpose flour
1/2 c granulated sugar
1 tsp salt
4 Tbsp kool-aid (any flavor) mix*
1 Tbsp baking powder
2 Tbsp melted, unsalted butter
1/2 c milk
1 egg, beaten

Steps:

  • 1. Heat vegetable oil to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C)
  • 2. Mix all the dry ingredients together. Add the melted butter, and mix until the batter is crumbly. Stir in the milk and the egg. Mix until smooth. Roll the dough into quarter-size balls and drop them carefully into the hot oil a few at a time. (or use a small cookie scoop instead!)
  • 3. Cook in oil for about 3 minutes. Remove when the fried Kool-Aid batter is golden brown and crispy.
  • 4. After removing from the oil place on paper towel to drain.
  • 5. You can dust with a mix of same Kool-Aid and Powdered Sugar (1/8 cup Kool-Aid to 1/2 cup powdered sugar) or just Powdered Sugar.

Tips:

  • For the best results, use a deep fryer or a large pot filled with oil. Make sure the oil is hot enough before adding the Kool-Aid dough, or else it will not cook properly.
  • If you don't have a deep fryer or a large pot, you can also fry the Kool-Aid dough in a skillet with a little oil. Just be sure to turn the dough frequently so that it cooks evenly.
  • You can use any flavor of Kool-Aid mix that you like. Some popular choices include cherry, grape, and orange.
  • If you want to make your Kool-Aid dough even more delicious, you can add some sugar or cinnamon to the mix before frying it.
  • Be careful not to overcook the Kool-Aid dough, or else it will become tough and chewy. Fry it until it is golden brown and crispy.

Conclusion:

Deep-fried Kool-Aid is a fun and easy treat that is sure to please everyone. It is the perfect snack or dessert for any occasion. So next time you have a craving for something sweet and crunchy, give deep-fried Kool-Aid a try.
