Steps:
- Push each candy bar onto a skewer or popsicle stick; refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Whisk the flour and baking soda in a medium bowl. Whisk in the seltzer to make a smooth batter (about the consistency of pancake batter). Heat 4 to 6 inches of vegetable oil in a deep pot until a deep-fry thermometer registers 330 degrees.
- Hold the Snickers by the skewer and dip into the batter, turning to coat. Carefully place the Snickers in the hot oil (skewers and all); fry, turning as needed, until crisp, 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. Use tongs to remove each bar by the stick; drain on paper towels or a rack and serve warm.
BONNIE'S DEEP FRIED CANDY BARS
This unusual recipe came from the internet by a cook named Elizabeth Deep-fried candy bars are crisp on the outside, and filled with liquified chocolate and caramel on the inside. Decadent and outrageous! Difinitely not health food, but once a year is okay!

Steps:
- 1. Freeze Candy Bars Before you fry the candy bars you want them really cold, so unwrap them and place them on a baking sheet and freeze them for at least 3 hours.
- 2. Prepare the Oil for Frying When you're ready to fry, get the oil ready. Pour it into a heavy-duty pot over medium-high heat and insert your candy thermometer. You want the oil to come to 375 degrees, which takes a while. Keep one eye on the oil while you get the rest of the ingredients ready.
- 3. Mix Ingredients for Batter Place ½ cup of the flour on a plate or in a pie tin, and set it aside. Place the remaining cup of flour in a medium bowl, and stir in the baking soda and salt. Combine the milk, vinegar, and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and mix it together. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and whisk them until it's really smooth and there aren't any lumps.
- 4. Dip Candy Bars Once the oil is at 375 degrees, it's time to start dipping. If you have a huge pan you can probably do several at once, but it's easiest to just fry one at a time.
- 5. Frying the Candy Bars Roll a candy bar in the flour then dip it in the batter, making sure that it's completely covered. Carefully lower it into the hot oil--you don't want to get too close and burn your fingers, but be carefully not to throw it in and cause oil to splatter. Use a slotted spoon to push down on the candy bar and keep it submerged in the oil so it cooks evenly. Once it's a beautiful, golden brown color, remove the candy bar from the oil and place it on a plate covered with paper towel to soak up the excess grease. Repeat the battering and frying process with the remaining candy bars.
- 6. Serving Deep-Fried Candy Bars After your candy bars are fried, let them cool slightly, then dust them lightly with powdered sugar and serve while still slightly warm. The outside is crisp but the insides liquefy and become this awesome gooey, chocolatey, caramel heaven. They are outrageous! If you get these at a food stand on a pier, they'll typically offer a choice of toppings such as chocolate syrup, confectioner's sugar, cinnamon, whipped cream, etc. Personally, I don't think they need anything else, but if you're feeling dangerous, go for it! Enjoy!

DEEP FRIED CANDY BARS
A Scotland favorite. Deep-fried candy bars such as Milky Way®, Snickers®, Mars® Bars, etc. We like Snickers® the best. A real treat! This recipe is my own variation. Enjoy!

STATE FAIR DEEP FRIED CANDY BARS
This is a recipe post more for laughs and shock value than to really home-make. It's definitely not healthy! But you recreate the deep-fried magic of state/county fairs and trips to Seaside right in your own kitchen! And it's not so horrible on the cholesterol level if you share it and only have maybe once a year ;) This is enough batter to coat two candy bars, maybe a third one. Milky Ways are the best for this but Snickers, Mars Bars, and 3 Musketeers also work-- pretty much anything with a gooey center that you can poke a skewer through, hard chocolate won't work.
