2 can(s) apple pie filling
1 box yellow or french vanilla cake mix
1 stick butter
1 c light brown sugar, packed
1/2 c chopped pecans or walnuts
extra chopped nuts for garnish
caramel ice cream topping

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2. Spray 9x13 glass pan with cooking spry. Spread 2 cans of Apple Pie filling evenly in the bottom of the pan.
  • 3. Cut stick of butter into small bits and cut into the cake mix. Evenly crumble the cake mix over the top of the apples. Top with crumbled brown sugar. Sprinkle nuts over the top.
  • 4. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 or until golden brown and bubbly.
  • 5. Remove from oven. While still warm drizzle with caramel ice cream topping. Since you can never get too much of a good thing, when I dish this up, I drizzle more caramel topping and sprinkle with more chopped pecans. Enjoy!

DEBBIE'S AMAZING APPLE BREAD

I was given this recipe years ago by my friend Debbie. I've had it written down on a torn piece of paper for years and decided today that this recipe needs to be on AllRecipes. It is a moist, sweet, and delicious bread with a crispy crust. By far my favorite bread recipe!

Tips:

  • Keep it simple: This recipe is all about simplicity, so don't overcomplicate things. Use basic ingredients that you probably already have on hand.
  • Use fresh fruit: Fresh fruit adds a delicious, natural sweetness to this dessert. If you can, use fruit that is in season for the best flavor.
  • Don't overcook the fruit: The fruit should be softened but still retain its shape. If you overcook it, it will become mushy.
  • Chill the dessert before serving: This will help the flavors to meld and the dessert to set. You can also garnish it with whipped cream or fresh berries before serving.
