Time 1h10m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 c dates, chopped
1/2 c butter
1 c sugar
1/4 tsp salt
2 eggs
2 c rice krispies
1/2 c nuts, chopped
2 c coconut

Steps:

  • 1. Mix together dates, butter, sugar, salt, and eggs in large sauce pan. Cook slowly for 10 minutes. Stir in rice krispies and nuts. Place pan in refrigerator until cool.
  • 2. Form into balls about one inch in diameter. Roll in coconut. Freeze until needed or eat right away.

Tips:

  • Use ripe dates: Softer dates blend more smoothly and add a richer flavor to the recipes.
  • Pit the dates before using them: This is an essential step to prevent any choking hazards.
  • Use a food processor or high-powered blender: These appliances will help you achieve a smooth and creamy texture for your date-based treats.
  • Experiment with different nuts and seeds: Adding nuts and seeds to your date goodies adds texture, flavor, and nutritional value.
  • Don't overcook your date goodies: Overcooked dates can become dry and chewy, so keep an eye on them while they are cooking.
  • Store your date goodies properly: Date goodies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. You can also freeze them for up to two months.
