Time 15m

Yield 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 figs, chopped
4 dates, chopped
1/4 cup golden raisin
2 large softened garlic cloves
1 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/8 balsamic vinegar
1 dash koshar salt
ground pepper

Steps:

  • Slightly roast or soften garlic first, otherwise too bitter.
  • Whirl all the ingredients using a hand held electric blender; mine is a Cuisinart 200 watts Smart Stick that comes with a cup for the ingredients.
  • Very thick; experiment with different vinegars (red wine is also good).

Tips:

  • Use ripe, fresh dates and figs: This will ensure the best flavor and texture in your dressing.
  • Soak the dates and figs in warm water for 15 minutes before blending: This will help to soften them and make them easier to blend.
  • Use a high-powered blender: This will help to create a smooth and creamy dressing.
  • Adjust the consistency of the dressing with water or olive oil: If you want a thinner dressing, add more water. If you want a thicker dressing, add more olive oil.
  • Season the dressing to taste with salt and pepper: You can also add other spices, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or cumin.
  • Use the dressing immediately or store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days: The dressing will thicken as it sits, so you may need to thin it with water or olive oil before using.

Conclusion:

Date and fig salad dressing is a delicious and versatile dressing that can be used on a variety of salads. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. Whether you are looking for a sweet and tangy dressing or a more savory dressing, date and fig salad dressing is sure to please.
