Slow Cooker Pork Tenderloin and Potatoes image

This is so easy - just one dish to complete an entire meal. The pork and potatoes melt in your mouth! We also like to buy a seasoned tenderloin for a special meal, just follow the same directions and omit the garlic. My family loves this meal, especially my two small children.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of pork: A pork shoulder or pork butt roast is best for slow cooking in a crock pot. These cuts are tough but have a lot of flavor and will become tender and juicy after cooking for several hours.
  • Brown the pork before cooking: Browning the pork before cooking helps to develop flavor and create a crispy crust. You can do this in a skillet over medium-high heat for a few minutes per side.
  • Use a flavorful liquid: The liquid you use to cook the pork in will add flavor to the meat. You can use chicken broth, beef broth, water, or even apple juice or cider.
  • Add vegetables to the crock pot: Vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, onions, and celery are all great additions to a crock pot pork roast. They will cook until tender and absorb the flavorful cooking liquid.
  • Season the pork and vegetables: Before cooking, season the pork and vegetables with your favorite herbs and spices. You can use a simple combination of salt, pepper, and garlic powder, or you can get more creative with your seasonings.
  • Cook the pork on low for 8-10 hours: Cooking the pork on low for 8-10 hours will allow it to become tender and fall apart easily. If you are short on time, you can cook the pork on high for 4-6 hours, but it will not be as tender.

Conclusion:

Crock pot pork roast is a delicious and easy meal that is perfect for a busy weeknight dinner. It is also a great option for a potluck or party. With a little planning, you can have a delicious and flavorful meal on the table with minimal effort. So next time you are looking for an easy and delicious meal, give crock pot pork roast a try.
