PAULA DEEN CROCK POT MACARONI AND CHEESE
I saw Paula Deen make this recipe on her Food Network program. I was looking for a really creamy macaroni and cheese recipe, and this is it! I changed it a bit by omitting the eggs (the original recipe calls for three) and boiling the macaroni for six minutes instead of seven, so it doesn't get mushy while cooking in the Crockpot. I also shortened the cooking time from three to two and a half hours. Perfection!

- Boil the macaroni in water for six minutes. Drain.
- In a medium saucepan, mix butter and cheese. Stir until the cheese melts.
- In slow cooker, combine cheese mixture and add the eggs (I omitted the eggs), sour cream, soup, salt, milk, mustard and pepper. Add the drained macaroni and stir again.
- Cook on low for 2 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
CROCK POT (SLOW COOKER) MACARONI AND CHEESE (OAMC)
Well, I modified Recipe #73916 enough that I figured I would post my version! And, as I can't make any small batches in the crock pot, this is OAMC. For a smaller crock pot, or for non-OAMC, this recipe can be cut in half. Enjoy! Note: Servings are main-dish dinner sized portions.

Steps:
- Whisk flour with 1 cup of milk until smooth.
- Mix everything in (very large) crock pot.
- Cook 3 to 4 hours on low, or until sauce comes together and pasta is tender. Stir every 30 to 60 minutes, if possible.
- Freeze leftovers in 2 serving portions.
- Reheat in microwave safe dish on defrost for 20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes. At this time, the mac and cheese should be mostly defrosted. Defrost for another 10 minutes or so, stirring every 2.5 minutes or until hot. (I have found this is the best way to reheat frozen mac and cheese with no seperation of the sauce.).

CREAMY CROCK POT MACARONI AND CHEESE
An easy, creamy mac and cheese recipe for the crock pot. No need to precook the noodles. Edited to add: I make this at least once a month without any burning or sticky mess. I know all Crock pots are different, because I have one that is "hotter" than the other. Perhaps a "hotter" crock pot is not suitable for this recipe.

CROCK POT MACARONI AND CHEESE
My mother made this a few years ago for our Christmas family get-together and we've had it at every get-together since then. I am also required to bring it to our company's Thanksgiving Potluck because everyone loves it. It's very creamy and rich and VERY easy to make. (I'll add a picture in a few days. Steps:
- 1. Spray a 3½ quart crock pot with non-stick cooking spray.
- 2. Cook macaroni according to package and drain well.
- 3. Reserve 1 cup of the shredded cheese.
- 4. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well.
- 5. Pour into the prepared crock pot.
- 6. Sprinkle the reserved cheese over the top.
- 7. Cook on low for 5 - 6 hours or until firm and golden around the edges.
- 8. DO NOT uncover or stir until done!
- 9. NOTE: A double recipe will make enough for a 6-quart crock pot.
Tips:
- Use a block of cheddar cheese: Pre-shredded cheese contains cellulose, which can make your macaroni and cheese grainy. Shredding your own cheese ensures a smooth, creamy sauce.
- Cook the macaroni al dente: The macaroni will continue to cook in the crock pot, so it's important to cook it al dente (slightly undercooked) before adding it to the cheese sauce.
- Use a combination of milk and evaporated milk: This creates a rich, creamy sauce that's not too thick or too thin.
- Season the cheese sauce: Salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder are all classic seasonings for macaroni and cheese. You can also add other spices, such as paprika, cayenne pepper, or smoked paprika, to taste.
- Garnish with bread crumbs or crushed crackers: This adds a nice crunchy texture to the macaroni and cheese.
Conclusion:
This crock pot macaroni and cheese recipe is an easy and delicious way to feed a crowd. It's perfect for potlucks, parties, or busy weeknights. With a few simple ingredients and a little time, you can have a creamy, cheesy macaroni and cheese that everyone will love.
