Number Of Ingredients 12

1 cup cola (do not use diet soda)
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
2 garlic cloves or 1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package onion soup mix
2 medium onions, chopped
2 lbs moose (if using deer meat, add 1 tbls. oil to cooking liquid) or 2 lbs venison (if using deer meat, add 1 tbls. oil to cooking liquid)
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons butter

Steps:

  • In a bowl add 1st 8 ingredients.
  • Reserve 1/2 cup for sauce later.
  • Trim excess fat from meat if using chuck roast.
  • Put meat and onions into a 4 quart crock pot or dutch oven.
  • Pour liquid over meat.
  • Crock pot: Cover & cook 5-6 hours on high.
  • Dutch oven: Cook covered for 3 hours at 325°F.
  • Remove meat from liquid and serve with sauce.
  • Sauce: Heat reserved spiced liquid, ketchup, and butter in a sauce pan until heat until butter melts.
  • Set aside in fridge.
  • Heat through and serve with meat.

This quite tasty after a long day at work, more seasonings can be added, to add heat if you wish. Serve with a salad. I have also served it with mashed potatoes and veggies, without buns.

3 lbs boneless beef chuck roast
1 cup barbecue sauce
1/2 cup apricot preserves (or any other fruit preserves to your liking)
1/3 cup chopped red bell peppers or 1/3 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (Or what ever kind you have around)
2 teaspoons packed brown sugar
1 small onion, sliced
12 kaiser rolls or 12 hamburger buns, split

Steps:

  • Trim excess fat from beef.
  • Cut beef into 4 pieces.
  • Place beef in 4-5 quart crock pot slow cooker.
  • Mix remaining ingredients except buns, pour over beef.
  • Cover and cook on low heat setting 7-8 hours or until beef is tender.
  • Remove beef from slow cooker.
  • Cut beef into thin slices.
  • Stir back into sauce.
  • Cover and cook on low heat setting 20-30 minutes longer or until beef is hot.
  • Fill buns with beef mixture.
  • The leftover beef can be frozen with the sauce if you do not need 12 at one sitting.

3 lbs beef, cut into cubes
1 cup beef bouillon
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chili sauce
1 cup ketchup
3 teaspoons cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup light brown sugar
2 teaspoons dry mustard
1 teaspoon ground allspice

Steps:

  • Put meat, bouillon & onions in crock pot on high for 4 1/2-5 hours.
  • Shred beef.
  • Drain all but 2 cups liquid.
  • Put beef mixture & remaining ingredients back into crock pot.
  • Stir well.
  • Cook on high for 45 minutes.
  • Serve on bulky rolls.

Never used flank steak in a crock pot before and was not sure how it would come out and after eating this I will use flank steak in the crock pot not only because I enjoyed it but because the hubby really wanted seconds and kept telling me it reminded him of his favorite bbq...

1 pkg beef flank steak(1 1/2 to 2 lbs)
3 large onions (i like sweet ones) cut into nice pieces
1/2 c water, cold
1 bottle sweet baby rays bbq sauce (or your favorite)
3 clove garlic (chopped, fresh or pre-chopped)

Steps:

  • 1. pour water into crock pot add bbq sauce and stir to blend
  • 2. rough chop onions into nice pieces..they will shrink during the cooking process (I used 3 large..next time i might add 1 more we love onions) add onions to mixture in crock pot
  • 3. chop 3 fresh cloves of garlic or use 3 table spoons of pre chopped garlic and add to crockpot
  • 4. add your flank steak to the pot and make sure the steak is covered by the bbq sauce/water mixture (you can add alittle more water if needed)
  • 5. cook for 8 hrs on low stir..this will help the flank steak shred
  • 6. I served ours over mashed potatoes and served with fresh green beans..for left overs I toasted some onion rolls with a little butter in the oven and made shredded bbq beef sandwiches

4 - 5 lb beef (or pork) roast
16 oz jar of salsa
½ - 1 c your favorite bbq sauce (optional)
2 pinch salt and pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Set Crock pot on low and add ½ the jar of salsa, a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • 2. Put roast in Crock Pot and cover with the rest of the salsa, and another pinch of salt and pepper. No need to add water.
  • 3. Add ½ to 1 cups of BBQ sauce (optional). I would recommend starting with the ½ cup at first, and add more later, if desired.
  • 4. Cook on low for 8 hours. Do not remove the lid, there is no need to stir.
  • 5. About 1 hour before serving, take two forks and shred the beef. Add additional BBQ sauce (optional). Recover, and let marinate until ready to serve.

I love this simple dish. It's so easy and tastes great. I usually use a homemade barbecue sauce but a good hickory flavored sauce is good too. I like to freeze this in individual portions to make a quick dinner when I don't want to cook.

3 lb bonless beef chuck, cut into 4 pieces (or bottom round roast)
1 medium onion, chopped
3 clove garlic (or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
3/4 c water
2 c barbecue sauce (homemade or purchased)
8 hoagie buns, or hamburger buns, or kaiser rolls

Steps:

  • 1. Place the onion and garlic on the bottom of the crock pot.
  • 2. Top with the beef pieces and season with salt and pepper.
  • 3. Add the water and cover and cook on LOW for 9 hours or until the beef falls apart with a fork.
  • 4. Remove all of the liquid from the beef.
  • 5. Trim and discard the excess fat from the cooked beef.
  • 6. Shred the meat with two forks until no solid pieces remain.
  • 7. Add the BBQ sauce and mix thoroughly.
  • 8. Serve the beef on split buns or hoagies.
  • 9. This recipe makes approximately 7-8 cups of shredded beef. Can be covered and refrigerated for up to 4 days for later use.

4 lb Beef Bottom Round Roast
2 C BBQ sauce
3 medium yellow onions, quartered & sliced
1 bottle of beer
1/2 C brown sugar
2 Tbs vinegar
1 tsp each mustard, onion powder, garlic powder
1/2 tsp each salt & pepper

Steps:

  • Season the roast with salt, pepper, onion and garlic powder and place in slow cooker. Cover with bottle of beer and top roast with brown sugar. Add onions to show cooker. Cook on low for 10-12 hours, stir in barbecue sauce, mustard and vinegar for last two hours. Remove the roast from slow cooker, cut across the grain about every inch and pull the meat apart with a large fork into shreds. Add the meat back to the sauce and keep warm in slow cooker until ready to serve.

1/4 c white vinegar

THICKENER
2 Tbsp cornstarch
2 Tbsp water

  • 3. When ready make a slurry 2TBS cornstarch & 2 Tbs water add to thicken Serve over mashed potatoes or rice so good!
