Tips:

  • Choose thick, boneless pork steaks for best results. This will help ensure that the meat stays moist and tender during the cooking process.
  • Use a crock pot liner to make cleanup easier. This way, you can simply remove the liner and discard it once the pork is cooked, without having to scrub the crock pot itself.
  • Add a layer of sliced onions to the bottom of the crock pot before adding the pork steaks. This will help to keep the meat moist and flavorful.
  • Use a good quality barbecue sauce. This is the key to giving the pork steaks their delicious flavor. Choose a sauce that you enjoy the taste of, and that has a good balance of sweetness, smokiness, and acidity.
  • Cook the pork steaks on low for 8-10 hours, or on high for 4-6 hours. This will give the meat plenty of time to become tender and fall apart.
  • Serve the pork steaks with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, coleslaw, or baked beans.
