APPLE PEAR SAUCE

Pear applesauce? Papplesauce? Appearsauce? When the apple-pear sauce is served warm, you will not need any additional sugar. As it cools it loses some of the natural sweetness, and you might want to add sugar to taste.

Tips:

  • Choose the right apples and pears: Use a combination of sweet and tart apples, such as Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Pink Lady. For pears, Bartlett or Bosc pears work well.
  • Peel and core the fruit: This will help the sauce to have a smooth texture. You can use a potato peeler and a melon baller to make this task easier.
  • Add some spices: Ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger are all classic spices that pair well with apples and pears. You can also add a pinch of cloves or allspice for a more complex flavor.
  • Sweeten to taste: The amount of sugar you add will depend on the sweetness of your fruit. Start with a small amount and add more to taste.
  • Cook until the fruit is tender: This will usually take about 2-3 hours on low in a crock pot. You can also cook the sauce over medium heat on the stovetop, but be sure to stir it frequently so it doesn't burn.
  • Serve warm or cold: Apple pear sauce is delicious served warm with a scoop of ice cream or yogurt. It can also be chilled and served as a refreshing side dish.

Conclusion:

Crock Pot Apple Pear Sauce with Ginger is an easy and delicious way to enjoy the flavors of fall. This recipe is perfect for a weeknight meal or a special occasion. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a flavorful and healthy sauce that the whole family will love.
