BEST GARLIC TOAST (QUICK & EASY!)

BEST Garlic Toast (Quick & Easy!) image

Here's the very best garlic toast you'll find! Ultra garlicky, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside: and it takes only 10 minutes to make.

Provided by Sonja Overhiser

Categories     Side Dish

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 7

12 small round slices of a large baguette or Italian bread (homemade or store bought)*
2 cloves garlic (2 teaspoons finely minced)
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
Garlic powder, for sprinkling
Finely chopped Italian parsley, for the garnish (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Thinly slice the bread.
  • Mince the garlic. In a small bowl, mix together the garlic with the olive oil, dried oregano, and salt. Use a brush to brush the mixture on both sides of each slice of bread and place them onto a baking sheet. Try to pick up some of the minced garlic with the brush, as it tends to sink to the bottom. (If the oil runs out, depending on your size of bread, just add a splash more to the bowl with the garlic.)
  • Add a pinch of garlic powder to the top of each toast.
  • Bake for 5 minutes until the crust is crisp but the inside is still soft. If desired, sprinkle with finely chopped Italian parsley. Enjoy immediately.

EASY CHEESY GARLIC TOAST

Easy Cheesy Garlic Toast image

This recipe is so ridiculously cheap and easy that it's almost embarrassing, but I'm posting it anyway for anyone who has picky little eaters or who is simply looking for a quick and easy fix. It is not gourmet by any stretch of the imagination but is just what it's title suggests: easy, cheesy & garlicy. My family said, "yum", and I hope yours does too!

Tips:

  • Use high-quality bread: A good loaf of bread will make all the difference in your garlic toast. Look for a bread that is crusty on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside.
  • Slice the bread evenly: This will help the garlic toast cook evenly. If the slices are too thick, they will be difficult to bite through. If they are too thin, they will burn easily.
  • Use plenty of garlic: Garlic is the star of the show in garlic toast, so don't be shy about using it. You can use fresh garlic, minced garlic, or garlic powder.
  • Spread the garlic evenly: Make sure that the garlic is spread evenly over the bread so that every bite has a little bit of garlic flavor.
  • Use a good quality olive oil: Olive oil will help the garlic toast to brown evenly and give it a nice flavor.
  • Toast the bread until it is golden brown: Keep an eye on the garlic toast as it is toasting so that it doesn't burn. The bread should be golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  • Serve the garlic toast immediately: Garlic toast is best served hot out of the oven. You can top it with your favorite toppings, such as grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, or a drizzle of balsamic vinegar.

Conclusion:

Crispy garlic toast is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or snack. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a flavorful treat that is sure to please everyone. So next time you are looking for something quick and easy to make, give crispy garlic toast a try. You won't be disappointed!
