Tips for the Perfect Potato and Bacon Casserole

  • Choose the Right Potatoes: Use a waxy potato variety like Yukon Gold or Red Bliss, which will hold their shape well and not become too mushy.
  • Cut the Potatoes Thinly: This will ensure that they cook evenly and get nice and crispy.
  • Don't Overcrowd the Pan: Give the potatoes plenty of space so they can crisp up properly.
  • Use Good Quality Bacon: The better the bacon, the better the casserole will taste.
  • Cook the Bacon Until It's Crispy: This will add flavor and texture to the casserole.
  • Use a Generous Amount of Cheese: Cheese is what makes this casserole so rich and decadent.
  • Bake Until Golden Brown: The casserole is done when the potatoes are crispy and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
