CREAMY SEAFOOD CASSEROLE

I love this recipe from my mother. It's easy and delicious. Even better: You can make it the night before. If you're out of buttery crackers, try topping it with french-fried onions or crushed potato chips-they'll give it a different kind of crunch. -Mary Brown, Whitman, Massachusetts

1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded swiss cheese
3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon paprika
1 lb fish, cut in bite size pieces
1 lb shrimp

  • Put fish in a 9x13-inch baking dish and then shrimp.
  • Pour sauce over top and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes, or until done.

Tips:

  • Mise en place: Before you start cooking, gather all of your ingredients and equipment. This will help you stay organized and prevent any scrambling.
  • Use fresh seafood: For the best flavor, use fresh seafood whenever possible. If you can't find fresh seafood, frozen seafood is a good alternative.
  • Don't overcook the seafood: Seafood cooks quickly, so it's important not to overcook it. Otherwise, it will become tough and rubbery.
  • Use a variety of vegetables: This will add flavor and texture to your casserole. Some good choices include broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, celery, and onions.
  • Use a creamy sauce: A creamy sauce will help to bind all of the ingredients together and create a rich, flavorful casserole.
  • Top with cheese: Cheese is a classic topping for seafood casserole. It adds a golden brown crust and a cheesy flavor that everyone will love.

Conclusion:

Seafood casserole is a delicious and versatile dish that can be made with a variety of seafood, vegetables, and sauces. It's a great way to use up leftover seafood, and it's also a popular dish for special occasions. Whether you're making it for a weeknight dinner or a holiday feast, seafood casserole is sure to be a hit.
