PANKO PARMESAN SALMON

Panko Parmesan Salmon image

Of all the recipes I make, this one is my husband's favorite for salmon. It's made with panko, or Japanese bread crumbs, which are very light and crunchy, mixed with Parmesan cheese. It's baked in the oven until the panko is nice and toasted.

PARMESAN ENCRUSTED SALMON FILLET

Parmesan Encrusted Salmon Fillet image

This is a great take on baked salmon with a bit of an Italian twist. For best taste, grate the cheese yourself and use fresh garlic that you mince yourself.

Categories     One Dish Meal

Time 20m

Yield 1 Fillet, 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 (4 ounce) salmon fillets, thawed
1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
1/4 teaspoon italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon garlic, minced
1/8 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Place the salmon fillet on a small baking sheet. Season the fillet with the Italian seasoning, garlic, and salt.
  • Grate the Parmesan cheese directly onto the salmon until there is a good, thick layer on top. This is usually about 1/2 cup.
  • Put the baking sheet in the oven for 10-20 minutes, until the salmon fillet is fully cooked. The Parmesan cheese on the top should harden into a crispy layer.
  • Allow a moment to cool, then serve and enjoy.

Tips:

  • Choose the right salmon fillet: Look for a fillet that is firm and has a vibrant pink color. Avoid fillets that are soft or have brown spots.
  • Use a good quality Parmesan cheese: Freshly grated Parmesan cheese will give the dish the best flavor. Avoid pre-shredded Parmesan, as it often contains additives and fillers.
  • Don't overcook the salmon: Salmon is a delicate fish, so it's important to cook it carefully. Overcooked salmon will be dry and tough. Cook the salmon for just a few minutes per side, or until it is cooked through but still slightly pink in the center.
  • Let the salmon rest before serving: Once the salmon is cooked, let it rest for a few minutes before serving. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the fish, resulting in a more tender and flavorful dish.
  • Serve with your favorite sides: Creamy Parmesan salmon can be served with a variety of sides, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or rice. You can also add a simple green salad to round out the meal.

Conclusion:

Creamy Parmesan salmon is a delicious and elegant dish that is perfect for a special occasion or a weeknight meal. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With its rich and creamy sauce, tender salmon, and crispy Parmesan crust, this dish is sure to be a hit with everyone at your table.
