1/2 c water
1/2 c milk, soya milk or coconut milk
1/8 tsp salt
2 Tbsp raisins, dried cranberries or chopped prunes
1 tsp wheat bran
1/2 c quick-cooking rolled oats
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • 1. Combine the water, milk, salt, fruit and bran in a large microwave bowl. Microwave for 2 minutes.
  • 2. Stir in oatmeal and cinnamon. Microwave on high 3 to 4 minutes. Stir at 1 minute intervals. Cover and let sit for 1 minute.
  • 3. You can add brown sugar, coconut sugar or pure maple syrup and milk, if desired.
