Great yummy party food that can be made ahead of time and frozen till ready to bake

Provided by donna bahl

Categories     Seafood Appetizers

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/2 lb can(s) crab meat
1 jar(s) kraft old english cheese spread
1 stick butter, melted
1/2 c mayonnaise
1 pinch garlic
1 pkg english muffins

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all ingredients until smooth. Split muffins in half and spread mixture on top of each muffin half. Bake in 350 oven for about 15 minutes until brown on top. Cut each muffin into 4 pieces or smaller an serve hot. May be made ahead of time and frozen till needed. delicious

Tips:

  • Use fresh crabmeat. Fresh crabmeat has a sweeter, more delicate flavor than canned or frozen crabmeat. If you can't find fresh crabmeat, you can use canned or frozen crabmeat that has been thawed and drained.
  • Make sure the crabmeat is well-seasoned. Crabmeat has a mild flavor, so it's important to season it well. Use a variety of spices, such as Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  • Don't overcook the crabmeat. Crabmeat is delicate and can easily be overcooked. Cook it just until it is heated through, or it will become tough and rubbery.
  • Serve the creamed crab immediately. Creamed crab is best served hot and fresh. If you need to make it ahead of time, you can store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat it gently over low heat before serving.

Conclusion:

Creamed crab is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed as an appetizer, main course, or side dish. It's easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. Whether you like it spicy, cheesy, or garlicky, there's a creamed crab recipe out there for you. So next time you're looking for a delicious and easy seafood dish, give creamed crab a try!
