CHIPPED BEEF DIP

Chipped Beef Dip image

This is an easy cold dip that my husband begs me to make every holiday. I originally got the recipe from my mother-in-law, and I substituted chives for the green onion since I am allergic to onions. They can be added back into the recipe if desired. I serve this with celery sticks, baby carrots, sliced peppers, and crackers.

CREAMED CHIPPED BEEF AND GREEN CHILE DIP

Creamed Chipped Beef and Green Chile Dip image

This dip is a favorite with Frito scoops. I use Stouffer's creamed chipped beef in the freezer section.

Provided by Jill Cooks

Categories     Dips

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 packages frozen creamed chipped beef, thawed
8 oz. package cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
4 oz. can diced green chiles
2 tablespoons chopped onion
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375.
  • 2. Combine cream cheese, 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, chilies, onion and garlic powder in medium bowl. Add chipped beef; stir well Transfer to 1 1/2 quart shallow baking dish; top with remaining cheddar cheese.
  • 3. Bake 20-25 minutes or until dip is bubbly and cheese topping is melted. Serve with tortilla chips and or corn chips.

Tips:

  • Use a good quality dried beef. If you can find it, try to use a grass-fed, organic beef. This will give your dip a richer flavor.
  • Soak the dried beef in water before cooking. This will help to rehydrate the beef and make it more tender.
  • Don't overcook the dried beef. Overcooked beef will be tough and chewy. Cook it just until it is tender.
  • Use a variety of cheeses. A combination of sharp cheddar, cream cheese, and Monterey Jack cheese will give your dip a complex and flavorful taste.
  • Add some diced green chiles. This will give your dip a little bit of a kick. You can also add other vegetables, such as diced onions, bell peppers, or corn.
  • Serve your dip with a variety of dippers. Crackers, tortilla chips, and vegetables are all great options.

Conclusion:

Creamed chipped beef and green chile dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It is creamy, cheesy, and has a little bit of a kick. Serve it with a variety of dippers and enjoy!
