Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 c butter
2 (3oz) pkg cream cheese, room temperature
1 c sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
2 c all purpose flour
2 Tbsp milk
pecans, halved
candied cherries, halved
1/2 c toasted coconut

Steps:

  • 1. Cream together the butter, cream cheese, sugar, salt, and vanilla
  • 2. Add egg and milk; beat well.
  • 3. Stir in the flour and toasted coconut
  • 4. Drop cookie batter from teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheet then press a pecan half or cherry half into the top of each. Bake at 325° for 18 to 20 minutes. Remove cookies to a rack to cool. Makes about 5 dozen cream cheese cookies.
  • 5. *To toast coconut in the oven, spread coconut on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake at 325°, stirring occasionally, until golden brown, about 10 minutes

Tips:

  • Use softened cream cheese. This will help the cookies mix together smoothly and evenly.
  • Don't overmix the dough. Overmixing can make the cookies tough.
  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. This will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just set. Overbaking can make the cookies dry and crumbly.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before frosting them. This will help the frosting set properly.

Conclusion:

These easy Cream Cheese Drop Cookies are a delicious and simple treat that can be made with just a few ingredients. They are perfect for any occasion.
