Oh my gosh, these are good and so easy. Use your imagination. I stumbled upon this recipe after realizing just how many cake mixes I had in my pantry. I love the flavor the cream cheese gives it. I'm a chocolate chip fiend, so I used a Duncan Hines French Vanilla cake mix and a small package of chocolate chips. Comments from the Test Kitchen: Deliciously sweet and buttery! We used a butter cake mix and added chocolate chips. This, along with the cream cheese, turned these cookies into the ultimate sweet treat. Seriously good!

Tips:

  • Choose the right cream cheese. Use full-fat cream cheese for the best flavor and texture. Soften the cream cheese to room temperature before using so that it mixes smoothly with the other ingredients.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can make the cookies tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the dough before baking. Chilling the dough helps the cookies hold their shape and prevents them from spreading too much in the oven.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just set. The cookies should be slightly puffy and the edges should be just starting to brown. Don't overbake the cookies or they will become dry and crumbly.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before frosting. This will help the frosting set properly.

Conclusion:

Cream cheese cake mix cookies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a batch of soft, chewy, and flavorful cookies that are perfect for any occasion. Whether you're looking for a quick and easy dessert for a weeknight dinner or a festive treat for a holiday party, these cookies are sure to be a hit.
