Time 15m

Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

12 ounces fresh cranberries, rinsed
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup orange juice
2 teaspoons fresh rosemary leaves, minced
1/2 teaspoon orange zest, finely grated

Steps:

  • Combine cranberries, sugar, orange juice and rosemary in a large sauce pan.
  • Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 1 minute.
  • Remove from heat and add in the orange zest.
  • Cover and cool.
  • Return to room temperature before serving.

Tips:

  • For a sweeter sauce, use more sugar. For a tarter sauce, use less sugar.
  • If you don't have fresh oranges, you can use orange juice concentrate. Just be sure to add less sugar, as the concentrate is already sweet.
  • If you don't have fresh rosemary, you can use dried rosemary. Just be sure to use less, as dried herbs are more concentrated than fresh herbs.
  • If you want a smoother sauce, strain it after it has been cooked.
  • Serve the sauce warm or cold. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Conclusion:

This cranberry sauce is a delicious and easy-to-make side dish that is perfect for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or any other special occasion. The orange and rosemary add a unique and festive flavor that will impress your guests. So next time you're looking for a new cranberry sauce recipe, be sure to try this one.
