Steps:
- 1. Dissolve cranberry jello with 1 cup boiling water. Chill until firm.
- 2. After jello is set. Dissolve lemon jello in 1 cup of boiling water, set aside. Mix cream cheese with mayo and cool whip, including pineapple with juice, fold into lemon jello ( it's ok if it isn't set.) Pour over cranberry mixture.
- 3. Top with tiny marshmallows. Chill about 2 hours, or until firm. ENJOY
Tips:
- Use fresh cranberries: Fresh cranberries have a brighter flavor and more nutrients than frozen cranberries. If you can't find fresh cranberries, you can use frozen cranberries, but be sure to thaw them completely before using.
- Don't overcook the cranberries: Overcooked cranberries will become mushy and lose their flavor. Cook them just until they begin to pop, about 5 minutes.
- Let the salad chill before serving: This will allow the flavors to meld and the salad to firm up.
- Serve the salad with your favorite toppings: Some popular toppings include whipped cream, marshmallows, chopped nuts, and grated orange zest. Garnishing with rosemary or mint
- Make the salad ahead of time: This salad can be made up to 2 days ahead of time. Just be sure to keep it covered in the refrigerator.
Conclusion:
Cranberry salad is a classic holiday side dish that is always a hit. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste. With its tart and sweet flavor, this salad is a refreshing addition to any holiday meal.
