Time 25m

Yield 36 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 12

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup butter (no substitutes)
1/2 cup oil
2 teaspoons grated orange zest
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup craisins (chopped)

Steps:

  • Mix sugars, butter and oil well.
  • Add egg, orange rind and vanilla.
  • Mix well.
  • Add flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt.
  • Add craisins.
  • Drop on cookie sheet and bake at 350é for 10-15 minutes.
  • Watch so they don't get dark.

Tips:

  • To ensure the perfect consistency, make sure to use cold butter. Allowing the butter to soften too much will make the dough difficult to handle and the cookies may spread too much in the oven.
  • If you don't have confectioners' sugar on hand, you can easily make your own by processing granulated sugar in a food processor or blender until it becomes a fine powder.
  • For a fun and festive touch, try adding some colored sprinkles to the dough before baking. This is a great way to involve kids in the baking process and make the cookies even more special.
  • To make the cleanup easier, line your baking sheets with parchment paper before placing the cookies on them. This will prevent the cookies from sticking to the pan and make it easy to remove them once they're done baking.
  • Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. If you want to keep them longer, you can freeze them for up to 2 months.

Conclusion:

These Cranberry Orange Melt-Aways are perfect for any holiday gathering or special occasion. With their sweet and tangy flavor, they are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them.
