Cranberry, Ham and Swiss Crescent Rolls image

Still have leftover cranberry sauce from Thanksgiving? Use it in these sweet-and-savory crescent rolls! They're delicious, super-easy to make and come together in just about 30 minutes.

Provided by Valerie Bertinelli

Time 30m

Yield 8 rolls

Number Of Ingredients 5

One 8-ounce tube refrigerated crescent-roll dough
2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons cranberry sauce
8 slices Black Forest ham
8 slices Swiss cheese, cut from the short side of a rectangular block, each about 1/4 inch thick
Dijon mustard, for serving

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Unroll the crescent roll dough and cut along the perforated lines to separate it into individual triangles. Arrange each triangle on a work surface with the short side closest to you.
  • Place about 1 teaspoon cranberry sauce on each triangle and use the back of a spoon to spread it evenly over the dough, leaving 1 inch of the tip bare. Place a piece of ham on the short side of the dough on top of the cranberry sauce and top with a slice of cheese. Wrap the sides of the ham over the short ends of the cheese to keep it intact.
  • Start from the short side of the dough and roll it up and over to encase the ham and cheese. Place on the prepared baking sheet. Bake until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is slightly oozing, about 15 minutes.
  • Transfer to a serving platter and serve with Dijon mustard.

SIMPLE & DELICIOUS CRANBERRY CREAM CHEESE PINWHEELS

Simple & Delicious Cranberry Cream Cheese Pinwheels image

These are super easy to make for a dinner party or as a dinner appetizer. I always make them for the Christmas holiday season and use spinach tortilla rollups.

Provided by Canadian in Minneso

Categories     Lunch/Snacks

Time 15m

Yield 40 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

4 soft flour tortillas (for Christmas I use the green spinach ones)
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup dried cranberries (I use Craisins)
2 bunches diced green onions
1 teaspoon garlic salt

Steps:

  • Mix cream cheese and garlic salt together until well blended. Spread evenly on tops of tortillas.
  • In small bowl, stir together cranberries and onions. Sprinkle evenly over cream cheese spread. Lightly press cranberry/onion mix into cream cheese.
  • Roll up tortilla. Trim off ends. And cut each tortilla into 10 even pieces using a serated knife, like you would slice bread.

Tips:

  • Use fresh cranberries for the best flavor. Frozen cranberries can be used in a pinch, but they will not have the same bright, tart flavor as fresh cranberries.
  • Don't overcook the ham. Ham is a delicate meat that can easily become dry and tough if it is overcooked. Cook the ham until it reaches an internal temperature of 140 degrees Fahrenheit for medium-rare or 160 degrees Fahrenheit for medium.
  • Use a sharp knife to slice the ham. A sharp knife will help you to get clean, even slices of ham.
  • Use a variety of cheeses in your appetizers or wraps. This will add different flavors and textures to your dish. Some good choices include cheddar, Swiss, mozzarella, and goat cheese.
  • Get creative with your toppings. In addition to cheese, you can also add other toppings to your appetizers or wraps, such as avocado, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions.

Conclusion:

Cranberry ham cheese appetizers or wraps are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or lunch option. They are perfect for parties or potlucks, and they can also be made ahead of time. With a little creativity, you can create a variety of different appetizers or wraps that everyone will enjoy.
